AI is stepping out of the screen and into the physical world — cars that understand the road and their passengers, robots that share our streets and homes, products that sense, learn and act. Designing these machines is one of the greatest opportunities awaiting the next generation of designers. 

 

Open to both graduate and undergraduate students, this course explores human-centered mobility design in the AI era, focusing on how to strategically integrate AI tools into research, ideation, development and storytelling. It will equip you with the fundamentals of how to start this journey, and to thoroughly enjoy various aspects of it, by tackling hands-on projects that achieve results previously out of reach. AI does not replace the skills of a good designer; strong fundamentals in design remain essential to guide AI toward meaningful and original work.
 

By the end of this class, each student will have built his/her own AI-integrated design workflow and produced a strong piece of advanced design that will proudly strengthen his/her portfolio.
